Overview of the holistic reproductive health practitioner program
The Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner is a comprehensive 2-year educator training in the Justisse Method of fertility awareness and holistic sexual and reproductive health.
The program doesn’t just cover menstrual cycle charting or suggest any quick fixes but trains educators who know the current context and history of women’s health, including its political, medical, ethical, and sociocultural aspects. HRHP students are educated and prepared to serve clients with a well rounded approach, working from a nuanced awareness of sexual and reproductive health.
HRHPs support every client in making informed and independent decisions regarding their reproductive health, encouraging clients to develop a knowledgeable relationship with their body, while respecting sexual and reproductive rights, ethnic and cultural diversity, as well as ideological and religious beliefs. HRHP graduates have a solid understanding of all methods of birth control, fertility and reproductive health issues, treatments, and proactive measures.
Training focuses on educating the HRHP to teach how to observe, chart, and interpret menstrual cycle events, as well as how to use the menstrual cycle chart as a mirror for general health. HRHPs learn how to assist those with normal or problematic menstrual cycles, and those facing challenging sexual and reproductive health situations or choices.
Students receive individual support and guidance from their personal curriculum instructors. Between meetings with faculty, the students engage with the coursework online and accomplish a number of tasks per unit (course). The program includes essays and tests, alongside continuous journaling for personal development. Students are also supported in developing their practice through a graduated learning process that uses a standard client management model. This prepares them to comprehensively apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, in order to develop a conscientious HRHP practice.
